Nitrakit

Nitrakit puts a complete video editor inside your app: timeline, real-time preview, effects, text and captions, audio, and export to MP4. It runs on the user's device, so you don't run servers for it and users' media never leaves their device.

Your users get an editor that feels like part of your app, and your team doesn't have to build one.

How it fits into your app

You getWhat it does
A previewPlays the video in real time; users move, resize and rotate what's on screen.
Editor controlsTimeline, tools and panels: trim, split, speed, effects, text, audio and more.
A project you ownSave it as JSON wherever you like, reopen it later, edit it from code.
ExportRenders an MP4 on the device, ready to save, share or upload.

What stays yours:

  • Where media comes from. The editor asks your app when the user wants to add a clip, so it can come from the photo library, your own content or your backend.
  • How pickers look. Media, font and colour pickers are yours too (simple built-in ones are there to get started).
  • The wording. Rename any label, in any language.

Where to start

  1. Follow your platform's guide: it takes you from install to an exported video.
  2. Get a license key for your app. Everything works without one, with limits, so you can try first.
  3. Make it yours: Customisation covers your theme, tools, pickers and wording.

Each API is labelled Stable or Preview: see API stability.
